Hip Labral Tear Causes, Symptoms, and Treatments
A hip labral tear is an injury to the ring of cartilage (the labrum) around the hip socket. The labrum is essential for hip joint stability. The cartilage rim deepens the socket and helps hold the leg bone in place while allowing movement and flexibility.
Got knee pain? Here's how to strengthen your knees.
Strengthening this important joint in each leg is essential, not only for injured athletes who need rehabilitation to get back on the field or court, but for everyone else to be able to comfortably go about our daily lives without needing crutches or other walking aids.
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries
Ligaments are tough bands of fibrous tissue that connect two bones. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) are inside the knee joint. These ligaments connect the thigh bone (femur) and the large bone of the lower leg (tibia) at the knee joint. The ACL and PCL form an X inside the knee that stabilizes the knee against front-to-back or back-to-front forces. An ACL injury is a sprain or tear in which the ligament is stretched beyond its normal range.
Non-Surgical Treatments for Rotator Cuff Tears
Rotator cuff tears do not heal well with time. They tend to either enlarge or, at best, stabilize in size. The good news is that rotator cuff tears do not necessarily need to heal in order for the symptoms to resolve.
Hip Osteoplasty Procedure and Purpose
Hip osteoplasty is a surgical procedure that treats femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).1 It involves reshaping the bone around the hip joint with the goal of improving function and reducing pain.
